Special Information Duties

Identity
Corbroker - Corretores de Seguros, S.A., with registered office at Av. 5 de Outubro, 17 - 2º andar, 1050-047 Lisboa (telephone 213245140), holder of the Corporate Identification Card with the number 503239470, registered with the Commercial Registry Office of Lisbon, with share capital of 71,000 euros, insurance broker registered on 27.01.2007, in the register of the ASF - Autoridade de Supervisão de Seguros e Fundos de Pensões (Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority), with the category of Insurance Broker, under no. 607083914/3, with authorisation to carry out the activity of insurance distribution within the scope of Life and Non-Life Insurance, which can be verified and confirmed at www.asf.com.pt, informs its clients, under the terms and for the purposes of article 31 of the Legal Framework for Insurance and Reinsurance Distribution (RJDSR) (Law no. 7/2019, of 16 January), that:
Independence
It has no shareholding, nor is it held, directly or indirectly, in or by any Insurer.
Corbroker carries out its activity independently of the Insurers, carrying out an impartial analysis of a sufficient number of insurance contracts available on the market to enable it to make a recommendation, in accordance with professional criteria, as to the insurance contract best suited to the Client's needs.
To the extent applicable, Corbroker will inform the client of the names of the insurance companies it works with that are relevant to the requirements and needs presented.
Intervention
Corbroker's intervention does not end with the conclusion of the insurance contractCorbroker is authorised to receive premiums to be paid to the insurance company, involving the provision of assistance throughout the respective period of validity. Corbroker is authorised to receive premiums for delivery to the insurance company, as well as reversals and compensation for delivery to policyholders, insured persons, beneficiaries or injured third parties.
Generally speaking, it is authorised to take out insurance in the name of and on behalf of insurance companies, but it never proposes or assumes risk cover in its own name, which is the exclusive competence of insurance companies, under the terms of the applicable legislation.
Counselling
Corbroker provides advice based on the impartial analysis of a sufficiently large and diverse number of insurance contracts available on the market, enabling it to make a recommendation, in accordance with professional criteria, as to the insurance contract best suited to the client's needs.
Remuneration
Corbroker's remuneration (fixed or variable) for the insurance distribution activity may consist of:
- A commission calculated and included in the amount of the premium paid by the client to the insurance company where the insurance is placed;
- Charging the client directly for previously agreed professional fees;
- Other types of remuneration in connection with the insurance contract;
- In combination with any type of remuneration mentioned above.
The client has the right to request information on the amount of remuneration to be received for the provision of the insurance distribution service, which will be provided on request to their account manager.
Solidarity
Normally, other intermediaries do not intervene in the insurance contracts concluded for the client, but if several insurance intermediaries or an ancillary insurance intermediary and one or more insurance intermediaries intervene in the same insurance contract, they are all jointly and severally liable to the insured, the policyholders and the insurance companies for the acts of distribution carried out.
Additionally, Corbroker informs that:
It is the Client's responsibility to provide accurate and complete information, as well as the correct answer to the questions asked in the insurance proposal, the absence or inaccuracy of which may invalidate all or part of the risk cover or prevent the Broker from advising the most appropriate product;
The Client assumes full responsibility for the solution chosen with regard to cover, exclusions, deductibles and capital when different from that advised by the Broker;
Without prejudice to their information obligations as a broker, the Client must carefully read all the terms and conditions of the insurance contract they enter into.
Corbroker acts on behalf of the client and in the name and on behalf of the insurance company.
