Mandatory Third Party Liability Insurance in line with Ministerial Order no. 2/2021
In line with Ministerial Order no. 2/2021, of 4 January 2021, Third Party Liability insurance for UAS weighing over 900g has become mandatory. Accordingly, Corbroker has Third Party Liability solutions that match this requirement.
Scope of cover
This insurance guarantees the obligation to indemnify third parties for damage to property caused by UAS when the drone in question has a maximum operating mass of over 900g, in the terms and for the purposes of Decree-Law no. 58/2018, of 23 July, with a minimum sum insured per year, regardless of the number of claims.
The cover includes damage resulting from accidents occurring both in flight and on the ground.
Insured Object
Unmanned Aircraft(s) / Remotely Piloted Aircraft(s), in compliance with the requirements defined in the legislation in force.
Territorial scope Portugal.
Time scope
The insurance contract covers the third party liability of the insured person due to the use of UAS for acts or omissions giving rise to civil liability occurring during the period that the contract is in force.
Private Use/Leisure, Sports, Commercial Use and R&D.
Requirements to take out the insurance
- Make, model, weight and version of the equipment;
- Manufacturer’s serial number;
- Type of use of the equipment;
- Completion of the insurance proposal.
